Fortin wins the Belgrade-Banjaluka

Spectacular victory of Filippo Fortin in the second stage of the Belgrade-Banjaluka: the #blackandgreen leader wins the sprint thanks to a brilliant acceleration in an awful weather.

After the ninth place of last stage  Fortin started the race with the idea to fight for the win in a race that was anything but easy. Also because of the bad weather  there were several breakaways during the day, but the end was daring: Vitally Buts (Kloss) keeps the front position  for a few seconds, Fortin manages to sprint in the best way and with an act of force overtakes the front runner and gains the first position.

For Filippo Fortin this is the second victory of the season after that at Gp Adria Mobil, 20 days ago. “I came here to win – says the #blackandgreen leader – and I kept my promise. Yesterday I was disappointed because I only won the sprint of the beaten runners, but today I wanted to win and I think I proved once again my worth. The race was not easy, the opponents were very aggressive and I congratulate them on the great race, but the will to win was too strong. I also have to thank the whole team, because they have worked for me from the first to the last kilometer. ”

For GM Europa Ovini, owned by Gabriele Marchesani, the directeurs sportifs Dmitry Nikandrov and Dario Andriotto were on the team car: “We knew that Filippo was in excellent condition – explains Andriotto – it was a great emotion to be in the team car and assist our leader during the victory, he won with a masterful sprint. The merit is also of the whole team, that have been fantastic throughout the day, especially Pacchiardo that proves being fast growing. “
